Real Estate
I’ve been shooting a lot of real estate lately. I used to shoot bracketed images in order to get the highest dynamic range. I’ve learned recently that this isnt the best choice. I find that there are so many color issues when I do this. Usually color caste from outside bleeds into the room and changes the color. Here in the mountains of NC, I get a lot of green reflecting from the trees and even changing the white balance doesn’t fix the color of the room.
I’ve changed to shooting “Flambient” . It’s a flash and ambient blend. I shoot a single ambient photo and then using flash to light the room. I may use flash a few times from different places in the room in order to get the room lit correctly and then blend all of these in photoshop. I may also do a window pull to get the outside and really make your house stand out.
This definitely produces superior results and makes my real estate images stand out in a crowd.
